Truck Parking Europe helped professional truck drivers find a safe parking spot, a cheap hot meal or a shower while carrying cargo across Europe.

The context
While trying to make the most of their daily driving limit, drivers often struggle to find a suitable place to park and rest. The app, for Android and iOS, combined geolocation with a specialized online database to point the driver to the best parking spot. At the time of the project, PTV AG reported yearly revenue of about 80 million euros and about 700 employees, one of the market leaders in software and consulting for traffic, transportation, mobility and logistics.
What we built
Working with our partner Infinum, we designed and produced this mobile app for PTV AG. Preferred spaces were generated from the driver's location, direction of movement and chosen preferences, such as a shower, Internet hotspot, truck repair shop or video surveillance of the parking lot.

Find the perfect parking spot
The main interface is the map, familiar to every trucker, dotted with parking locations filtered by Comfort, Security and Infrastructure. A floodlit spot with a fuel station and truck wash nearby? A few taps and off you go.

Taking the quickest route
Or let the app list suitable locations by preference, present location and direction of movement. The closer the place, the higher on the list.

The power of community
A pan-European driver community: every user could create a free account and rate visited parking spaces from 1 to 5 stars with a helpful comment, helping colleagues avoid bad locations.
Today: In 2019, when Volkswagen Financial Services acquired a majority stake in PTV Truckparking, the platform counted more than a million downloads and 34,000 locations. The service was later integrated into LogPay and closed in February 2025.
